Legal Assistant / Paralegal post sought in Chesterfield area
I am a mature law graduate and previously qualified social worker with a wealth of experience in providing information, advice and advocacy services. Having already pursued a successful career in a demanding environment with a heavy caseload, I have developed the organisational and soft skills required to ensure I am an immediate asset to any future employer.
My previous employment involved managing a busy information and advice service for a charity in Sheffield. Accessing services and welfare benefits was a priority and included representation at tribunals and providing basic legal advice. I also developed and delivered training courses for in-house staff and outside agencies. Due to my undergraduate training and employment I have experience of mental health law, community care law, NHS frameworks (including payment regulations for residential care), local authority access criteria and disability benefits.
My LPC electives were; Family Law, Personal Injury and Medical Negligence and Criminal Law. During the LPC, at Nottingham Law School, I worked with the pro-bono groups on the Innocence Project and for the Bars in Their Eyes Project which educates prisoners on the requirements of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
I also completed a one week work experience placement with Cartwright King Solicitors in Nottingham in their prison law department. I have three months work experience in a family law department as a Family CLA Telephone Advisor. This was in a call centre type environment taking referrals from First Assist.
I am looking for work with a firm local to Chesterfield or in surrounding areas either assisting a qualified solicitor or as a paralegal.
I am highly motivated and very keen to begin my legal career. Please email for a copy of my CV: andrea.welch1@btinternet.com or telephone on: 01246 568610. Mobile 07788417889.

Work Experience Enquiry
My name is Hannah Cox and I am 16 years old. I am enquiring about the possibility of doing some work experience or shadowing, after I have finished my GCSEs this summer. I am interested in studying law because I am very academic and take a keen interest in English, Maths, French, German and the Legal system. In the future I am planning on applying to Oxbridge and am predicted A*s in all of my GSCEs.
I will always strive to work for yourself and your colleagues to the best of my ability and I will always act in a professional and confidential manner. Moreover, I am very happy to undertake any tasks, which I am asked to do.
I have applied a number of solicitors’ firms and all of the courts in the local area. Unfortunately, none of which are taking work experience placements at present and no-one in my family is connected to the legal profession. Therefore, I am appealing to you through this advertisement.
If you think that you could be of any help, please could you email me at hannahcx1@gmail.com.

Re: Seeking a Family biased Training Contract with the view to entering into a Partnership Agreement.
Following the announcement of the rules concerning Alternative Business Structures for Law Firms, the Professional Ethics Body of the SRA confirms that is possible for a non-solicitor to enter into a Partnership Agreement with a Solicitor's Firm.
However, further investigation stipulates that a Law Graduate can only enter into a Partnership Agreement upon satisfactory completion of the mandatory Training Contract.
Therefore, I am looking to train and qualify for a firm which practices family law within the Midlands area.
As my main interest is in family law, I am looking to find a practising solicitor or a willing Training Principal who would remain in the firm for the next five years.
The ultimate aim is to become a commited family solicitor, grow, develop and build on local community links in order to drive the business forward by injecting capital investment in the form of a Partnership Agreement.
If there are any interested parties, I would like to start a training contract as soon as possible. I am open to further discussions.
My name is Roshanara and I can be contacted on my mobile and by email:
